Cork Spray Insulation

One of the most innovative ways to protect, insulate and enhance a property. Delivers a flexible, breathable finish that improves comfort, reduces energy loss and helps prevent mould and condensation.

Modern protection against heat loss and mould.

Cork Spray is a natural, sustainable coating made from fine granules of cork - a lightweight, breathable material harvested from the bark of cork oak trees. As an ideal Thin Internal Wall Insulation (TIWI) solution, it forms a thin, seamless and flexible layer when sprayed onto internal or external surfaces, helping to tackle some of the most common issues in UK homes - heat loss, condensation and mould.

Because cork is naturally breathable, it allows moisture to escape rather than become trapped inside walls. At the same time, its insulating properties help maintain a warmer, more stable indoor environment, reducing cold spots and preventing the conditions where mould thrives.

Key benefits for clients

  • Improved thermal insulation - helps regulate temperature and reduce heat loss, making rooms feel warmer.

  • Natural resistance to mould, mildew and damp - cork’s moisture-balancing structure prevents condensation from settling on cold surfaces.

  • Acoustic dampening - reduces noise transfer between rooms or from outside.

  • Space-saving alternative to traditional insulation - unlike internal wall insulation boards (often 50–100mm thick), cork spray adds minimal thickness, avoiding the need to move radiators, adjust skirting boards and sockets or lose floor space.

  • Crack-resistant flexibility - ideal for older homes or surfaces prone to movement.

  • Eco-friendly and renewable - cork is harvested without cutting the tree down; the bark regrows and continues absorbing CO₂, making cork-based products low-impact and carbon-negative.

  • Modern, textured finish - can be tinted to suit your interior or exterior aesthetic.

Where cork spray works best.

Cork Spray is ideal for both internal and external insulation, especially in areas prone to cold spots or moisture issues, including:

  • Bedrooms with cold external walls that attract mould.

  • Living rooms where sitting near a wall feels draughty.

  • Behind wardrobes, beds and sofa where air circulation is poor.

  • Bay windows, alcoves and corners prone to condensation.

  • Older solid-wall properties with no cavity to insulate.

  • Conservatories.

Cork Spray Installation Process

TIWI-Accredited expertise you can trust.

Cork Spray is a specialist system and its performance depends entirely on correct preparation, mixing and application. PP Plastering is a TIWI-Accredited Installer, a qualification held by only a small number of professionals in the UK. This accreditation ensures the product is applied safely, effectively and to the highest technical standard.

What this means for clients

  • You receive genuine, certified installation using approved methods and materials.

  • Your coating is applied by someone trained in the science of cork performance - breathability, thermal behaviour, moisture control and substrate compatibility.

  • You benefit from precise, specialist application techniques that maximise insulation, flexibility and durability.

  • Your property is assessed thoroughly to ensure cork spray is the right solution for your specific structure, moisture profile and long-term needs.

  • You gain confidence knowing the work meets strict industry standards, reducing the risk of cracking, poor adhesion or premature failure.
